Ukrainian and Polish Experts Analyze the Current State of Relations and the Prospect of the Inter-State Dialogue in Yaremche

The traditional XVIth Ukrainian-Polish meetings started in Yaremche. This is the only regular scientific forum in Ukraine that has been gathering Ukrainian and Polish experts, diplomats and scientists to exchange their ideas for 16 years already. This year the topic of the discussion is “Ukrainian-Polish Strategic Partnership during the War and the Prospects of the Inter-State Dialogue”. The organizers of the forum are: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw, Ivan Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the NAS of Ukraine. The traditional partners are the representation of “Polish Academy of Science” in Kyiv, NGO “Kurier Galicyjski”, the Fund “Freedom and Democracy”, the Institute of Polish Culture in Kyiv.

Traditionally, the conference was opened by the Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Ihor Tsependa and the Head of the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw Jan Malicki. The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the section “Ukraine and Poland, Current Relations from the Perspective of the Warsaw Pact and the Treaty between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland on Good Neighbourliness, Friendly Relations and Cooperation”.

“I am convinced that our meeting is a very good platform for exchanging ideas and their implementation. The discussions that had started 16 years before there in Yaremche became the basis for the adoption of reasonable solutions at the state level that strengthened our bilateral relations. Today as never before we see the importance of the reasonable constant emotionless bilateral dialogue for our strategic relations,” – the Rector Ihor Tsependa greeted the participants.

“Our conference is neither scientific nor political. This is a special and unique form of expert discussions which have been lasting for 16 years,” – the co-organizer of the conference and the Head of the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw Jan Malicki announced in his turn.

The participants of the forum were acquainted with the Presentation of the Fund for the Support of Migrants at the Labor Market “EWL”. Besides, the report “Why Did Millions of Polish People Help Millions of Ukrainians after February 24” was also presented.
